The Effective Leadership and Management of Formal Investigations
| Target Audience: | Chief Executives, Board members, Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and other senior colleagues on a ‘needs’ basis. |
| Aims of Programme: | To provide delegates with an opportunity to explore current issues and vulnerabilities associated with investigations into such matters as serious complaints, serious untoward incidents, serious errors and accidents, serious allegations or suspicions of staff misconduct, and criminal allegations. These are all matters which, by their very nature, call into question or cast aspersion upon the enactment of the statutory duty of care responsibility of such senior members of staff and which, therefore, require thorough and professional investigation. |
| Learning Style: | The training is workshop-based and takes the form of facilitated learning. The programme is specifically structured so as to address matters at a level appropriate to the seniority and experience of the delegate members, and takes those individuals through an analysis of strategic issues, current vulnerabilities and imminent developments, then on to improvements and best practice in the field of investigations before finally addressing a range of specific and contentious issues in this field. |
| Outcomes: | As a consequence of this programme members of the target audience are presented with the opportunity to review their current sets of policies and practices with regard to all aspects of investigations, and of the strategic ‘fit’ with other key agencies and inspectorial bodies so as to ensure that all of the aspects attain the highest professional standing. This enables the key leaders and managers of the target audience to determine and align a number of related strategies and policies such as those addressing the requirements of audit, governance, risk management and human resources in a consistent and unified approach. |
| Proposed Dates: | The programme is held throughout the year according to the needs of each client. |
| Number of Participants: | Each workshop comprises a minimum of 5 and a maximum number of 12 delegates so as to ensure that the aims of the programme are fully met. |
| Duration of Programme: | The programme is delivered in the form of a 1-day workshop. |
| Cost: | The cost of the service is £1,500 for the 1-day workshop. |
