Motivation Skills Training Workshop for Managers and Supervisors
| Target Audience: | Managers and supervisors who are responsible for the implementation of new working styles, organisational changes and the raising of performance or standards. |
| Aims of Service: | To provide delegates with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills and competencies upon which successful motivation activities are based. This is achieved by presenting delegates with a thorough appraisal of the leading concepts and theories upon which successful motivation is based. Utilising validated questionnaire exercises, delegate responses are analysed, providing individual delegates with the opportunity to identify their most and least preferred styles of motivating staff, and of their own self-motivation. This enables delegates to assess the implications of this raised awareness for their existing roles with regard to motivational opportunities and requirements of their managerial role and, by conducting a ‘gap analysis, create a personal strategy and set of practical actions for addressing identifiable learning and development areas consequent upon the outcome of that analysis, and to begin implementing that strategy during the final learning session. |
| Service Style: | : The learning and associated exercise activities are undertaken in workshop style where the emphasis is on the active participation and involvement of all delegates. A balance is struck between theory and practice, and between individual and personal learning, and of the interaction with other delegate colleagues. This interaction facilitates the demonstration of difference and alternative perspectives, thereby raising awareness and providing for greater insights on the part of individual delegates. Every opportunity is taken to engage the delegates in a variety of individual and group exercises in order to generate and embed relevant learning. The event is therefore highly participative, energetic and interactive. |
| Outcomes: | Individual delegates who have a greater self-awareness of their own motivational styles and needs and, based upon that insight, are able to identify similar needs and styles of the employees for whom they are professionally responsible. They are therefore able to recognise individual and group motivational levels and therefore promptly act to raise those levels as the working situation evolves, with the consequent increase in professional performance. |
